Story

The Creative

Katy Bell is a British designer with over fifteen years’ experience within the high-end interiors, textile and fashion industries. She has designed for and collaborated with iconic brands and studios such as Liberty of London, Fortnum & Mason, Conran, Andrew Martin, Helen Green and Calvin Klein. Katy is also the Founder of Lost Property of London (LPOL) – an independent accessories brand that designs and crafts handbags using naturally-dyed leathers and deadstock British textiles.

As a graduate of Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design (UAL) - a recognised global centre of creative excellence - Katy enjoyed experimenting with colour, form and material texture, underpinned by a strong conceptual sense. Over the years, emerging from art school into professional design studios, Katy has been fortunate enough to be inspired and influenced by renowned creative leaders and diversely talented teams, which has enabled her to carefully, confidently build a reputation on instinctive creativity, a commitment to responsible low-impact sourcing and craftsmanship, and individual style.

The Philosophy

“The World is full of beautiful, well-made, purposeful possessions. We can choose to take responsibility for them by bringing them into our homes. The art, then, lies in curating diverse styles to craft one effortless, connected aesthetic. One that subtly speaks of the human stories at the heart of the project.” Katy Bell
